The John Egan Band is an original, independent, rock’n’roll band from Providence, Rhode Island. John is a singer-songwriter. He plays guitar and harmonica. ​Matt Thorsen plays guitar and sings backup; Pete Wingate plays bass, guitar, and mandolin; and Dan Styklunas plays drums.
The band’s music draws from the wells of Americana, Roots-Rock, Singer-Songwriter, and Power-Pop. Their influences include Bob Dylan, Lucinda Williams, Elvis Costello, Graham Parsons, and Hank Williams.
Since She Left Me Behind - the first single from the upcoming album Better Late than Never - was released September 29, 2022 on The Rebel Cause record label. Follow-ups Take Away (March 17, 2023) and Brand New Pair of Jeans (May 19, 2023) are on Bugaboo Records.
The album has eleven original songs, including the three recent singles. Upon release July 14, 2023, it will be available on most streaming sites, and also on CD at BandCamp.com. ​Just Like a Human Being, the debut album from 1995, is still available. (Yes, that is twenty-eight years between the first and second album.)
