The John Egan Band is an original, independent rock’n’roll band from Providence, Rhode Island. John is a singer-songwriter. He plays guitar and harmonica. ​Matt Thorsen plays guitar and sings backup; Pete Wingate plays bass, guitar, and mandolin; and Dan Styklunas plays drums.
The band’s music draws from the wells of Americana, Roots-Rock, Singer-Songwriter, and Power-Pop. Their influences include Bob Dylan, Lucinda Williams, Elvis Costello, Graham Parsons, and Hank Williams.
“Since She Left Me Behind" - the first single from the upcoming album - was released September 29, 2022 on The Rebel Cause record label. Follow-ups “Take Away” (March 17, 2023) and "Brand New Pair of Jeans" (May 19, 2023) are on Bugaboo Records.
The album - Better Late Than Never - has eleven original songs, including the three recent singles. Upon release July 14, 2023, it will be available on most streaming sites, and as a CD at BandCamp.com. Just Like a Human Being, the debut album from 1995, is also available. (Yes, that is twenty-eight years between the first and second album.)

John Egan is a singer-songwriter-guitarist from Providence, Rhode Island. He has also spent time in Boston and Nashville. With influences that include Elvis Costello, Lucinda Williams, Graham Parsons, Hank Williams, and Bob Dylan, John’s songwriting draws from the wells of Americana, Roots-Rock, Singer-Songwriter, and Power-Pop. With his songs he spins compelling and heartfelt stories of life, love, and loss.

JOHN EGAN BAND – “TAKE AWAY”
Kicking off with gloriously crunchy guitars, the newest single by John Egan immediately hooks the listener. With a voice like an American Keith Richards, his singing radiates confidence and wit. Harmonica and tambourine add extra spice to the track as well, keeping it from being just another power-pop tune (though, in all honesty, what’s wrong with that?). The band’s upcoming album, Better Late Than Never, will arrive soon as well.
